We know that the most important single ingredient to your happiness with you new yacht is finding the right crew for you and your family. Each owner is different, each assignment is different, and we have the experience to help you define your requirements in such a way that it makes it easier to find the right crew for you. It is so common that a mismatch will occur and the owner is unhappy with the crew’s performance.  When the crew finds the right position for them, then the owner is delighted.

While we are not a high volume operation, Hargrave has a select number of crew openings each season and we work very hard to make sure the position is a good match for you as well as for the owner. You will find the team at Hargrave is 100% committed to our crews. We know that by giving the highest level of support to each Hargrave yacht crew, it will not only ensure the happiness of the owner but the success of our company as well.

We get involved; we stay involved.

We help both parties develop a proper job description. We cover the basics like salaries and benefits, but also help work out the agreements for important issues like time off underway, extra help during busy cycles, vacation time and schedules, and providing relief crew when needed for personal emergencies, etc. All the small details that are important to every owner are important to us, and conversely, the small details important to our captains are important to us as well. At Hargrave we get involved, and we stay involved.

Our founder Jack Hargrave started his career as a licensed captain back when he was still in high school and running a 42’ motoryacht every summer. He went on to be a top racing sailor around the world and later a project manager and builder. He knew better than anyone how important it is for the owner to have a happy crew and that is why Hargrave design yachts have always been a bench mark for not only addressing the owner’s needs, but the needs of the crew as well.
